Download buttons are placeholders in this design.

  1. Read the planned setup below before changing anything on your Mac.
  2. The planned connection uses Tailscale, SSH and Apple Screen Sharing. Provider accounts and apps will be required.
  3. Your Mac must stay awake, online and signed in. Set up and test access beside your Mac before trying another network or cellular.
  4. Start each connection in View Only. Deliberate, locally authenticated control is a separate step.

Designed for iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 and Mac with macOS 15 or later. Prepare and test your connection before relying on away access.

A familiar touch.

In portrait, your Mac desktop sits above a native keyboard and trackpad. Try typing and pointer movement in the website demo.

Letters, Navigation, Symbols
Use the pills to change the keyboard. Letters has a centered Space key. Navigation gives you arrows, function keys and shortcuts. Symbols has two pages of punctuation and numbers.
Move, click, drag
Swipe anywhere in the lower trackpad area to move the pointer. Tap to click. Touch and hold, then move your finger, to drag. Use two fingers to scroll.
Your Mac shortcuts
Use Command, Control and Option with the keys you already know. The trackpad stays in the same place when you change the keyboard.
Portrait and landscape keys
In portrait, hide the keys to expand the trackpad. In landscape, the keys start hidden; use Show Keyboard to bring up temporary keys over the desktop.
Try it on the website
Open Notes in the website demo, then choose Write a note to use a comfortable text field. Use the keyboard icon on the device to hide or restore the keys. The website demo runs locally in your browser.

Your laptop. Your little lookalike.

The outside display is a digital lid. Choose stickers, clean silver or a photo of your own laptop.

  1. For a photo lid, take a clear picture of your laptop lid or choose one from Photos.
  2. Place the four corner handles around the lid. Review the corrected perspective.
  3. Save the result to use it on the outside of your TinyBook.

Stickers can be moved, resized and rotated. Clean silver keeps just the Apple mark. Optional Image Playground styles use Apple processing; review the result before you save it.

Planned Mac preparation.

The planned free companion will help prepare and revoke access on your Mac. This workflow is still being tested. The current capture-preview helper is not the production remote-access server.

Private connection
Tailscale connects your approved devices privately. Its account, apps, terms and any separate costs must be explained before setup.
Mac services
The planned route uses Remote Login and Apple Screen Sharing through a restricted SSH connection. It does not require extra Screen Recording, Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission.
Trust your Mac
Compare the Mac identity before sending credentials. The production setup uses a restricted key for each Duo and a separate desktop sign-in.
View, then control
Every connection begins in View Only. Choose Control My Mac and authenticate locally when you want to send keys or pointer input.

Your photos. Your choice.

Photo correction and sticker editing happen on your device.

Photo access
Choose the photo you want to use. You can use a photo lid without Image Playground.
Apple processing
Optional Image Playground styles can use Apple processing. Choose this only if you are comfortable with that processing.
Keep your original
TinyBook works from your chosen photo and saves a lid result. Your original photo stays yours.

A little help, when you need it.

For the remote connection, your Mac must stay awake, online and signed in. Prepare and test away access before you leave. Use the website demo to explore the local controls now.

For help or feedback, email Alexander with your device and OS versions and a short description. Do not include desktop contents, passwords or pairing codes.
